I love that you included sardines in one of your top five all time healthy foods to eat. A doctor I know says they are one of "nature's miracles" & although I know most people turn their nose up at the thought of them, they are really miraculous foods. I know sometimes when I'm in a hurry & can't take time enough to sit down & eat, I can grab a can of sardines with some crackers & an apple & voila can satisfy my nutrient needs for one meal! Not to mention the spectacular health benefits that meal affords me!

When I lecture to groups, I always mention sardines as a must & that I include them in my regimen probably 3-4 times a week & that everyone else should do that also. My book "Reaching for 100" also mentions them so favorably. At 72 I feel better than I did at age 50 & anyone can do the same.

I so totally agree with this article in so much as I practice everything that the author preaches. Also I have done extensive research into all of the above. I have practiced much of what author claims for the last 10 years and feel better now at age 72 than I did even at age 50! My book "Reaching for 100" outlines what I do and why I do it. On a daily basis I include most of the herbs he mentions particularly cinnamon - I find that an easy spice to add to so many foods including juicing fruits! And of course garlic goes into almost everything I make.

I love this article - it makes such great sense!

Hi Merry, I want to tell you how much I liked your article. I also feel that people should be aware of how dangerous inflammation is to our body.
People are not being told that inflammation in their body is causing great stress to the immune system.
Your article pointed out that there is something that each and everyone of us can do to help to put a stop to this silent killer.
You have informed us so we now, can take more of a pro active roll in our own life.
Keep up the good work. Jolaine

Thanks to the amazing efforts of Allen and Willy Darman of New York, I've recently overcome chronic mild depression and inattentiveness via completely natural means.

The treatment consists of a wide variety of supplements and nutrients including:
- broad based amino acids (the most important ingredient, providing all the components the body needs to make all neurotransmitters, not just serotonin)
- oils, including fish, flax, borage, evening primrose, cod liver, coconut
- multivitamin, vitamins B and C, and several other vitamins and supplements.

The treatment also addresses the theory that mental illnesses like depression, bipolar and ADHD are largely caused by food allergies, candida and related digestive complaints, and involves lots of digestive therapy.

After a 5 year battle with depression (and indeed a life-long battle with inattentiveness), and many different conventional and natural therapies tried including SSRIs, 5HTP, meditation and detoxing, I'm amazed at how effective this treatment is and incredibly thankful that my life is finally back on track.

You can follow my progress at www.hostep.com.

Best regards,
Tom

Great suggestions......I remember a grapefruit diet from the early 70's that worked fantastic! I didn't know about pumpkin the only way I can think of adding that to my diet is a pumpkin soup but I make it with loads of half n half so I don't think it would qualify.

Another suggestion your readers may want to consider is, chia seeds! I know it seems like a very odd suggestion given that whenever we hear those words all we can think of is the chia pet! And then that stupid song goes through our head for the next 2 hours! But truthfully chia seeds are one little nutrient packed seeds and if you are on a diet they are great as a supplement.....check out this article.....http://healthy-holistic-living.com/chia-seeds.html
